      Job summary

      Our team delivers high-quality evidence-based care to people to support their sexual health needs. You'll be part of an enthusiastic and passionate team dedicated to keeping people in Kent, Medway and East Sussex safe and well, now and in later life, by providing contraception, treatment for sexually-transmitted infections, and advice and support to maintain healthy relationships.

      Main duties of the job

      Your daily activities will be varied to include:

      • Assisting with Sexual health screenings (e.g., taking swabs, blood tests, or urine samples)
      • Microscopy
      • Administrative duties to ensure delivery of service
      • Pregnancy Testing
      • Urinalysis
      • Vaccinations
      • Managing Specimens
      • Act as a patient chaperone, when required during examinations
      • The ability to assist registered clinicians duringclinical procedures
      • Manage asymptomatic patients

      Qualifications, training and experience

      Essential

      • A Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Level 3. This could be an NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship, BTEC or equivalent international qualification in healthcare. o Or you will be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience.
      • You may also have the Care Certificate, but if not, we will support you to achieve this within the first 3 months of starting.
      • You'll need to have recent experience of healthcare/ working as a health care assistant gained through education, work experience or previous employment.
      • In addition you will also have Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C/ 4-9 or equivalent in English and Maths)

      Knowledge and skills

      Essential

      • You'll need have sound communication skills in order to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing.
      • You will need to be able to remain professional, work well under pressure and organise your own work in order to prioritise care delivery in line with trust policies and procedures.
      • You will need to be able to be able to use IT systems and databases
      • Work together with colleagues and other teams across the Trust.

      Working environment
