      You will work 28 hours per week (ideally Mon-Thur) in our friendly practice.

      We have good connections to East Mids Cities and M1/A46/A52, free parking and a tram on the doorstep.

      Its just and are a stroll from the high-street for your lunch.

      Clifton is a great place to work with lovely patients.

      Main duties of the job

      General Practice Healthcare Assistant

      • ECG recording
      • New Patient Health Checks
      • Phlebotomy
      • Influenza Vaccination
      • B12 Injections
      • Shingles vaccination
      • Pneumonia vaccination and other vaccinations as per the green book and PSD/PGD.
      • Wound care (1st assessment by a Practice Nurse then follow up HCA as needed)
      • Chaperoning Duties
      • Sterilising, Cleansing and Maintenance of Surgical Equipment
      • Surgical Equipment stock rotation
      • Cleansing and re-stocking consultation rooms
      • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during minor operations and coil/Implant clinics
      • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well being
      • To perform Blood Pressure monitoring review and give appropriate lifestyle advice
      • To perform NHS health checks for invited patients
      • Testing urine specimens, recording results and informing GP of said results
      • Perform 24-hour BP monitoring
      • Perform other clinical and administrative tasks as required. (QOF)
      • Good communication with clinical, non-clinical and patient recognising peoples needs for alternative methods of communication.

      The role will involve working to ensure that the surgerys appointments, systems and processes are as effective as possible to allow us to deliver an outstanding level of care to all patients. This will be completed through a variety of different areas, excellent clinical care for patients, accurate record keeping, and clinical guidelines followed. Ensuring that you are safe; effective; caring and responsive to patients needs. Equipment and stock are sufficient to service the needs of the practice and its patients. The HCAs will work closely with clinicians and others in the practice team to ensure we are working as effectively as possible.
