- Experience managing programs, staff, and resources in clinical or public health settings.
- Experience writing grants, reports, and interagency agreements.
- Experience with communicable disease surveillance and control, including infection control, epidemiology, and risk communication.
- Experience with enforcement of policies that address security, privacy, and legal considerations when communicating epidemiologic information.
- Experience planning, leading, and managing program activities, and evaluating and reporting on program activities to ensure they align with overall goals.
- Experience with budgeting, contracting, and financial management processes; including preparation of required grant submissions and reports by administrative and fiscal staff.
- Experience developing and implementing surveillance, informatics, data visualization, and epidemiologic projects.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations for a variety of audiences.
- Experience creating, promoting, welcoming, and maintaining a culturally competent and diverse work environment.

Healthcare-Associated Infections Program Manager (Public Health Manager 2) -Portland, OR (Hybrid)
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Acute and Communicable Disease Prevention (ACDP) Section in Portland, Oregon is actively seeking a Healthcare-Associated Infections Program Manager (Public Health Manager 2) to serve as principal supervisory lead manager for the Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) program and related teams in the Acute and Communicable Disease and Prevention (ACDP) section.
The Acute and Communicable Disease Prevention (ACDP) Section of the Public Health Division’s Center for Public Health Practice is charged with preventing the spread of communicable disease in the State of Oregon through surveillance and epidemiologic studies as well as education and preventive actions. The section serves all Oregonians and works directly with local health departments, private physicians, other health care providers, other Public Health Division staff, and staff members of other state and federal agencies. What you will do:
As the Healthcare-Associated Infections Program Manager, you will provide leadership to direct the program and supervise all levels of staff, including administrative support, epidemiologists, nurses, and physicians. You will establish key working relationships with internal staff and partners throughout the state and country and serve as the agency spokesperson and program liaison to oversee programmatic work with other state agencies involved with Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) prevention.
In this position, you will act as the principal investigator for Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) projects and partner with stakeholders to develop and implement a statewide strategy for HAI prevention. You will design and oversee HAI outbreak investigation surveillance, response, and prevention projects. In addition, you will oversee the preparation of grant submissions and reports by administrative and fiscal staff, as well as coordinate and secure funding for grant applications. Your responsibilities will include developing and overseeing interagency agreements, contracts, and budgets related to HAI and other ACDP projects.

Minimum Requirements:
A master’s degree in public health, public administration, or closely related field and two years of public health supervisory or management experience; planning, organizing, and managing the operations of public health epidemiology, syndromic surveillance, preparedness and response, or closely related field;
OR, a bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, or closely related field and three years of public health supervisory or management experience; planning, organizing, and managing the operations of public health epidemiology, syndromic surveillance, preparedness and response, or closely related field;
OR, six years of public health supervisory or management experience; planning, organizing, and managing the operations of public health epidemiology, syndromic surveillance, preparedness and response, or closely related field.

Working Conditions:
The work of this role will be performed in a hybrid environment. Remote work requires appropriate access to the needed operating systems and technology. There are times that the work will need to be conducted on-site at the Portland State Office building, 800 NE Oregon Street in Portland Oregon, 97232. This position requires some in-state travel and out-of-state travel with overnight stays to attend meetings, provide presentations, make field visits, participate in work group activities, or to provide assistance during a public health emergency. Travel, including driving, may be required in all weather conditions.
