What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Handle member service calls regarding policy management, benefits, and claims inquiries
- Process member payments, address billing inquiries, and resolve billing discrepancies
- Provide accurate information on coverage plans, including eligibility and benefits
- Assist members with claims status updates, inquiries, and reconsideration requests
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive member information and escalate complex issues as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- At least two (2-3) years of experience in claims examination, health insurance, customer service, call center, medical office, or other healthcare-related field
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and keyboarding
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare terminologies, eligibility, benefits, medical claims, and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
- Experience in a fast-paced call center environment
