What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Handle member services calls related to policy management, benefits, and claims inquiries
- Process member payments and address billing inquiries and discrepancies
- Provide accurate information about coverage plans and assist with prior authorizations
- Conduct research to locate healthcare provider contact information for members
- Maintain confidentiality and escalate complex issues to supervisors as necessary
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in claims examination, health insurance, customer service, call center, medical office, or other healthcare-related field
- Solid understanding of healthcare claims, benefits, and policy processes
- Must be able to clear a criminal background check
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and screen navigation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare terminologies, eligibility, benefits, medical claims, and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong multitasking abilities with attention to detail
- Self-motivated with organized time-management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
