What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage member services calls regarding policy management, benefits, and claims inquiries
- Process member payments, update member information, and handle policy terminations and reinstatements
- Provide accurate coverage information and assist with prior authorization and referral processes
- Conduct research to locate healthcare provider contact information and assist with claims status updates
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive member information and escalate complex issues as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- At least 2-3 years of experience in claims examination, health insurance, customer service, call center, medical office, or other healthcare-related fields
- Strong computer experience, including data entry and navigation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to clear a criminal background check
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare terminologies, eligibility, benefits, medical claims, and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding
- Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail
- Self-motivated, organized, and strong time-management skills
- Ability to multitask effectively while working independently and as part of a team
- Experience with troubleshooting member websites and technical issues
