ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HIS Apprentice, Level 1 position will begin once an Apprentice has been approved to join the program by their District Manager (DM) or National Director (ND) and the Apprentice registers for their IHS Distance Learning Program.
1. Master basic Hearing Instrument Science knowledge warranted to perform the future duties of a HCP by completing the IHS Distance Learning Program and observing a HCP perform HAEA, HC1Y, HAF, and HAC appts, as per HIS Manual.
a. Apprentice role will be split as directed in the Plan of Coverage form between HIS Apprentice and current duties Part-time would include 2.5 days/wk; 3 days/wk; 4 days/wk. (NOTE: see appropriate Job Description.)
b. Full-time would be considered to be 5 days/wk.
2. This knowledge will be gained within and outside of business hours to prepare for the Final IHS Distance Learning exam:
a. HIS Apprentice, Level 1 will attend at least four group HIS training events each month that is provided by HearUSA, during Stages 1.
b. HIS Apprentice, Level 1 will dedicate an average of 1 hour/day of study time, during Stages 1 outside of business hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
INTERNAL CANDIDATES: Performance/Potential Matrix on WPD indicates no less than “solid performer"
1.Excellent customer service history, with participation & center findings on exit surveys (connotes mindful of client service)
2. Preferred, previous experience training other CES regarding TCM (TotalCare Clinic Management system), office procedures, etc. (connotes career progression, aptitude to learn and excel)
3. Preferred, minimum of six-month employment with WSAudiology, unless a member of the Management team has personal experience/knowledge of previous work ethic, skills, and motivation.
4. No formal written warnings for performance, attendance, or conduct violations in the previous 12 months.
EXTERNAL CANDIDATES:
1. History of career advancement (connotes aptitude to learn and excel)
2. History of excellent client or customer care (connotes mindfulness of client service)
3. Experience in training co-workers (connotes career progression)
4. Experience as a Client Care Coordinator or other type of administrative duties in a Clinical setting or Hospitality industry.
Approximately six months of experience in the hearing industry as a Client Experience Specialist, Audiology Assistant, Hearing Aid Tech or Hearing Aid Consultant or external experience in Hospitality industry for customer care.
Candidates and Sponsor must meet their specific State or Commonwealth Laws and Regulations.
