Job summary
This post is fixed term / secondment for 12 months due to Maternity Cover.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised and pro-active Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to provide high quality Speech and Language Therapy services for patients with communication disorders and dysphagia after experiencing a stroke.
The post holder will work within Adult Speech and Language Therapy service in the ESD (Early Supported Discharge) and SSIR (Specialist Stroke Inpatient Rehabilitation) services.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities include but are not limited to Triage of referrals; Caseload allocation and prioritisation; Assessment, treatment and management of complex patients within the ESD and SSIR settings; Supporting the delivery of therapy by Therapy Instructor and Multi-Professional Rehabilitation Assistants; Planning and supporting transition to community services as part of discharge from these services.
The role involves delivery of training and education to the wider MDT and Band 5 Speech and Language Therapy colleagues in dysphagia and communication. Clinical Education to Speech and Language Therapy students will also be a part of this role. CPD and clinical supervision are encouraged and supported within BCUHB Speech and Language Therapy Services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
