- Associates Degree in Health Information Management, Business or Computer Sciences preferred
- 3-5 years of healthcare, data analysis or quality improvement experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills required
- Ability to perform job function and make decisions without direct supervision
- Work with various clinicians and other healthcare team members in correcting and educating on errors in the medical record
- Communicate with staff to ensure that downstream systems and databases are in sync with EMR
- Monitors medical records in various stages of correction to assure all corrections needed are made by the appropriate team members (Completion of Chart Correction Cases)
- Understands the importance of chart correction as it relates to Patient Safety and relays the urgency to providers and team members that need to perform corrections.
- Performs review of imaged records for quality, legibility, data integrity
- Monitors MPI duplicate reports daily- Review, analyze and decide if duplicates need to be merged
- Utilize chart correction tools in EMR to appropriately complete contact moves, note type change, patient merge/unmerge and note redactions
- Oversee the Care Everywhere Incoming Messages report daily- Confirm incoming messages match and route appropriately.
SUMMARY
Responsible for improving the integrity of data by identifying, investigating and correcting errors within the electronic medical record system. The Data Integrity Specialist is responsible for overseeing the chart correction processes in Epic by coordinating with the parties involved in each chart correction case and for ensuring all necessary corrections are made and each case is validated prior to closure. Communicates with systems throughout Rochester Regional Health and with affiliate organizations to ensure accuracy of information and coordinate MPI changes across the health system.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
