      JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

      Reporting to the Manager, Health Records in the Clinical Systems and Informatics division, the successful candidate will provide support for transcription services, report distribution and chart correction.

      The successful candidate will be responsible for:

      • Providing dictation access, orientation, training, and support to the clinicians for Traditional and Fluency Direct-frontend dictations
      • Conducting ongoing quantitative and qualitative reviews
      • Maintaining dictation system provider dictionary
      • Troubleshooting and resolving report distribution and routing issues
      • Reviewing, analyzing and processing dictated reports in the Fluency hold queue
      • Managing report distribution process, including monitoring, identifying, resolving & reporting any issues pertaining to Hospital Report Manager (HRM), FaxCore and Results routing error queue within Epic
      • Providing first level support for issues related to hospital reports received in error, address and triage accordingly
      • Monitor and support Transcription/Dictation
      • Responsible for maintaining the Epic ‘provider dictionary’, performing duplicate patient record merges in Epic and EMP I and related adjustments to mitigate risk to patient care
      • system, liaise with vendors and IS for system related issues and troubleshooting
      • Monitor, review and address chart correction cases
      • Other duties as required

      Qualifications

      • Graduate from approved Health Information Management Program
      • Certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) and be an active member in good standing with CHIMA
      • University degree from an approved HIM program an asset
      • Strong understanding of Health Information Management Fundamentals is essential
      • Knowledge of registration data and data quality of the health record
      • Understanding of data flows and interfaces

      Experience

      • Minimum of 5 years of Health Records experience
      • Experience working in a health care environment

      Skills and Abilities

      • Self-motivated team player who can work independently
      • Excellent interpersonal, decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
      • Good verbal and written communication skills
      • Organizational and change management skills
      • Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office, Epic, ChartMaxx, Meditech and Fluency for Transcription
      • Demonstrated effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines

      Position Location and Travel:

      • While this role is typically located at our Credit Valley Hospital site and is hybrid, in person and remote. Travel to all THP sites may be required at different times.
