What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Protect and maintain the security and confidentiality of patient data and medical information
- Perform prepping, scanning, indexing, and quality audits/control of medical record documents
- Assist physicians in the electronic completion of patient documentation by identifying deficiencies
- Manage the document capture of paper records into the electronic health record system
- Reconcile paper medical records with hospital census for accuracy

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of medical record format and content for inpatient and outpatient visits
- Ability to perform computer functions in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in task performance
- Good communication and teamwork skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a hospital Health Information Management (HIM) department
- Familiarity with an electronic legal health record system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience operating scanning hardware
