What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Apply appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to patient health information for data retrieval and claims processing
- Manage coding for both inpatient and outpatient encounters
- Ensure coding accuracy to support quality patient care
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to improve coding processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and regulations

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience as a coder, with a focus on inpatient coding
- Certification by AHIMA as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or by AAPC as a Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding
- Excellent communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on coding
- Additional certifications in health information management
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations
