What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience as a coder, with a focus on inpatient coding
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by AHIMA or as a Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) by AAPC
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding practices
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team

- Additional coding certifications or specialties
- Experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on coding and billing
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
