- Training and evaluating histology personnel
- Drafting and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Contributing to IT infrastructure development for internal histology services
- Performing routine and specialized histology procedures, including tissue preparation, microtomy, H&E staining, and equipment maintenance
- Handling hazardous materials and maintaining reagents
- Organizing slides for diagnostic purposes
- A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in science.
- Certification as HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP).
- At least 7 years of experience as a histotechnician or histotechnologist, with a minimum of 2 years in supervising histology operations and managing people.
- Expertise in confidently cutting and mounting high-quality tissue sections from various tissue types, including needle biopsies.
- Maintenance of continuing education units required by the California Department of Health Services.
- A meticulous, detail-oriented approach to work.
- Proven experience in process improvements and updating standard operating procedures.
- Experience in training and onboarding new team members.
- Prior experience with digital pathology workflows is a plus.
