- Reviews all loan underwriting documentation to ensure compliance with agency guidelines and Chase requirements for both delegated and non-delegated clients.
- Proficient in reviewing and understanding an AUS finding.
- Analyzes financial information including calculation of income, debt ratios and verification of assets.
- Identifies and addresses red flags and/or documentation deficiencies found in the file documentation.
- Effectively communicate using strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent teamwork with internal employees and external customers
- Demonstrates the ability to successfully function in a fully virtual workspace.
- Achieves and exceeds performance goals for productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Minimum of three years first mortgage underwriting experience
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate well in difficult situations.
- Thorough knowledge of personal and business financial analysis and is proficient at cash flow and self-employed income analysis and corporate tax returns.
- Current and/or recent lending authority
- Demonstrated experience in underwriting both manually and using automated underwriting systems.
- Technology skills at a level required to support remote work.
- College degree in business and/or equivalent preferred
Description for Internal Candidates
The qualified candidate will underwrite Agency AUS loans from our Correspondent Lenders in accordance with Chase, Agency, State and Federal guidelines and restrictions. Underwriters support and uphold fair lending practices of JPMorgan Chase and are responsible for productivity targets ensuring the highest quality and level of customer satisfaction.
As an Underwriter II, you will have working knowledge of residential mortgage underwriting guidelines and be responsible for the analysis of ability to repay, capacity, capital/assets, character, collateral, and property condition, while adhering to Chase credit policies and agency guidelines.
This is a fully remote role within the continental US. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance or VISA sponsorship.
