Manages an advising case load in a manner that promotes retention and completion through proactive interactions and interventions.
Participates in regular academic standing review of all honors students in terms of academic performance, transfer outcomes, and program engagement.
Works with the Honors College Dean to track and support overall academic progress of students.
Assists honors students in the development of individualized academic and transfer plans and monitors student progress through regular meetings, communication, interventions, assessments, and data collection.
Serves as a mentor and role-model; meets regularly with students for individual mentor meetings.
Helps execute special events for honors students (e.g. Academic Showcase, Recognition Events, Graduation Convocation, 4-Year Campus Presentations/Visits, etc.)
Engages in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in academic advising and/or student support is required or one (1) year of experience with a Master's degree.
A working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and advising, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Academic advising in an honors/co-horted program.
General Purpose & Scope of the Position
By providing holistic academic and transfer advisement, this part-time (temporary) Honors Advisor will help honors students reach their fullest potential. The Honors Advisor is a flexible and collaborative team player who works across the Ivy Tech system to support honors students through completion.Major Responsibilities

Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00/hour (maximum 29 hours per week)
