Hospice Aide- Taylor House
Des Moines, IA
Part Time (16/hrs per pay period) Weekend Package - Days
Saturday and Sunday 7am-3:30pm
Responsibilities
The Hospice Aide ensures quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to individualized care plan under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Uses equipment and supplies safely, effectively, and efficiently Consistently utilizes a holistic approach considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served Possesses communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and verbally report clinical information to patients, caregivers, and other hospice staff. Recognizes the influence of personal, spiritual, and cultural values on perceptions regarding death and dying and their impact on quality of life.
Qualifications
Education:
Completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program of a minimum of 75 hours with no continuous period of 24 months without compensation for Home Care Aide/CNA work since completion.
Completion of a 120 hour nursing assistant course, is preferred. High School diplooma or GED, is preferred.
Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age in accordance with regulatory requirements.
2-5 years hospice experience in a nursing or hospice facility, is preferred.
