Job Description

This position requires a deep technical understanding of hardware aspects of the HPC compute and storage systems. To deliver cost optimized HPC solutions for our clients, it is essential that you are capable of working closely with hardware vendors to incorporate customized design for our HPC needs.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Design scale out compute and storage architectures for our HPC needs.
• Work closely with our clients to understand their future HPC needs to design customized HPC systems that match their requirements.
• Collaborate closely with our compute and storage vendors to design customized and optimized HPC storage solutions for CGG.
• Perform benchmarks to evaluate and validate proposed HPC solutions.
• To act as a high-level expert who can deal with escalated HPC hardware issues on the new technology being implemented.
• Ensure optimal deployment of proposed solutions in production environment.
• Research and keep current with advances in HPC compute storage technologies to guide product improvements.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst our operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM

Essential Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing scale out HPC compute and storage architectures, including extensive knowledge of related hardware & software components.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with design and implementation of high density HPC systems with accelerators.
• Hands on experience with hardware components of HPC systems.
• Experience with high-performance storage systems (Lustre, Ceph, BeeGFS, etc.)
• Strong background in Linux and its ecosystems.
• Experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
