      Position Summary

      Reporting to the Director, HR Services, this role delivers generalist support to the Assistant Director, HR Business Partner’s (HRBP) and their assigned client groups. As an HR Generalist, s pecific areas of first level support will include fielding general HR inquiries, generating/maintaining reports, policy interpretation and project support, etc.

      Under the direction of the HRBP this role will collaborate and partner closely with various HR centers of excellence (COE), including Employee Relations (ER), Talent Acquisition (TA), Compensation, Benefits, and the HR Solutions Center (HRSC), as well as the Staffing and Organizational Development (SOD) department.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Serve as first level support to HRBP by fielding divisions HR questions regarding leaves, HR programs, recruitment, policy interpretation, compliance, employee relations, progressive counseling, performance management, and other initiatives as needed
      • Provide ongoing support to HRBP for the efficient and professional delivery of HR services to managers/leaders, and the resolution of questions related to HR policies, procedures and internal HR processes.
      • Consult with HRBP and appropriate HR teams on various business issues such as salary recommendations, talent acquisition, training programs, employee relations issues, investigations, and general inquiries.
      • Generate and/or maintain reports for HRBP related to performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations/investigations, etc.
      • Manage HRBP projects and initiatives as assigned to ensure HR strategies and department business goals/initiatives are achieved.
      • Partner with HRBP and ER team to stay appraised of any issues and escalate as needed.
      • Collaborate with the ER/SOD teams to identify potential issues identified during the exit interview process.
      • Liaise across the Institution and with functional areas such as SOD, Compliance, Risk, Finance and others as needed.
      • Ad-hoc initiatives as requested (EEOC analysis, engagement survey, change management, etc.).

      Education

      • Bachelor's Degree

    Experience

    • Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience working in a Human Resources environment. Experience across a range of HR functions including employee relations, progressive counseling, performance management compensation, and benefits. Practical experience in employee relations, policy interpretation, complaint investigations and conflict-resolution preferred.
    • Prior experience in Healthcare or Higher Education setting is preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence, negotiate, and drive organizational engagement.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in MS Suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
    • Previously demonstrated advanced ability to analyze problems and provide creative solutions.
    • Advanced knowledge in Employment Laws and personnel policies.
    • Working knowledge of general US employment law, ERISA, HIPPA, COBRA, FLMA and other related regulations governing employee benefit programs preferred.

    Work is completed in office environment. Approximately 60% is computer based, 40% desk/office based. The job requires extended and varying work hours to meet demands
