Business Partner consultation - Provide direct HR partner support to several corporate teams and leaders across HUB. This individual will have direct contact with several of HUB’s executive leadership team members including the CFO. They will need to understand the business, troubleshoot talent issues, and address employee relations and engagement concerns. They will work closely with our COE’s and other Field HR colleagues to deliver key services and expertise.
Project leadership – Drive and participate in talent initiatives to create and implement best practices across HUB. These projects focus on all aspects of an employee’s lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, employee development, succession planning, and the employee value proposition.
Employee relations and advocacy- Advise managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues including coaching, researching/investigating situations and recommending business driven, proactive, and inclusive solutions. Act as an SME for HR team members and leaders and a coach/role model for the employee reporting into this role.
Performance Management – Drive more efficient and effective ways to educate employees and leaders on performance management processes and culture.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community – Provide partnership and thought leadership to Talent Acquisition and our leaders to promote diversity of thought, perspectives, inclusive practices, policies, and behaviors, and equitable treatment of all employees and customers.
Compliance – Deliver organizational initiatives and projects that build on our compliance efforts across both the US and Canada.
Compensation – Ensure pay practices are equitable and competitive, partnering with our Compensation COE and with Finance as needed. Key initiatives include the merit and bonus payout process, internal equity reviews, job architecture, and career ladder/lattice creation and opportunities.
Data Analytics & Storytelling - Leverage the corporate scorecard and various digital tools and spreadsheets to collect, analyze, and communicate key data to leaders to facilitate educated and informed business decisions.
Communication – Create and design content and educational material for employee and manager development. Keep employees and leaders informed through regular talent updates in collaboration with team members and HR SME’s.
Cross-HR collaboration – Work with field HR and corporate COEs to deliver the best employee experience in a highly decentralized organization.
At least 8+ years of generalist/HR Business partner experience including leadership partnership and coaching, employee relations, project management, employee engagement, DEIC, training and data analytics. Prior experience managing one or more employees is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field. PHR/SPHR certification is desirable.
Project experience leading and driving initiatives that span a variety of talent topics including employee engagement, organizational transformation, change management, DEIC, performance and talent management.
Effectiveness in delivering market and internal pay equity in an environment that is still maturing in compensation governance.
Experience partnering with HR COEs, Legal, and Finance to address answer employee and manager questions and deliver on key initiatives.
Insurance and/or Financial Services experience is helpful.
Prior experience supporting corporate functions like Finance, IT, and others preferred.
Ability to partner with Compliance to manage the ever-changing state and country legal landscape.
Opportunities remotely supporting employees in multiple locations and countries and specifically work with Canadian employees are a plus but not required if open to learning Canadian employment laws and practices.
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and experience or desire to learn Workday (HRIS).
Proven verbal and written communication skills with experience interacting at all levels.
Detail oriented and organized when reviewing and manipulating employee data.
Ability to influence business decisions using data analytics and storytelling.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing business needs and demands and sometimes ambiguous situations.
Flexibility in doing a range of work – from day-to-day transactions to strategic organization initiatives with leaders.

POSITION SUMMARY
The newly expanded HR Manager/Sr. HR Manager position will provide support for Corporate employees across HUB in Canada and in the US. Client groups will include the Enterprise Finance, Employee Benefits, and Private Client organizations. The role will also have an opportunity to participate in and drive corporate and enterprise-wide initiatives. This role will also manage one HR Business Partner. This position reports into the VP Corporate HR & HR Compliance who reports into the CHRO. This hybrid role is based out of Hub’s beautiful offices at 150 North Riverside in downtown Chicago. The incumbent will be required to come into the office at least two to three days most weeks.
