- Conduct thorough background checks, including criminal, employment, education, and reference checks.
- Provide timely updates to hiring managers and HR business partners on the status of background checks.
- Address and resolve discrepancies or issues identified during the background check process.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding background checks and employment eligibility.
- Stay updated on best practices and legal requirements related to background checks
- Verify the accuracy of applicant information and ensure all background check documentation is complete.
- Timely h andle the Workday HR Shared S ervices queue that all associates use to ask base-level HR related questions.
- Manage employee data in HRIS, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Support payroll processing by providing accurate employee data and resolving payroll-related issues.
- Respond to HR inquiries from employees and managers via phone, email, or ticketing system, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates.
- Generate standard and ad-hoc HR reports and analytics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and relevant labor laws.
- Communicate with candidates, employers, and educational institutions to gather necessary information.
- Maintain detailed records of background check results and ensure data integrity in the HRIS.
- Provide timely updates to hiring managers and HR business partners on the status of background checks.
- 1-2 years of experience in background checks, HR, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Excellent investigative and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and background check systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to background checks and employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Position Overview:
The HR Shared Services Associate is responsible for providing centralized HR support to employees, managers, and HR business partners. This role involves handling various HR processes, including employee data management, benefits administration, payroll support, and responding to HR-related inquiries. They are also responsible for conducting comprehensive background checks for new hires and current employees as well as handl ing I-9 documentation. This role ensures the integrity and compliance of the background check process, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy throughout.
This position is a hybrid position that will allow the associate to work from home 2 days per week.
