      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for employee benefits administration
      - Serve as a technical liaison for employees, retirees, and agencies regarding eligibility and claims
      - Research complex issues and compose correspondence concerning eligibility and premium costs
      - Conduct interviews to determine qualifications for benefits eligibility and process necessary paperwork
      - Train staff on new processes and improve current administrative operations

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Experience in Human Resource Management Systems
      - Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations positively
      - Knowledge of accounting and payroll systems
      - Ability to communicate effectively in person, orally, and in writing
      - Minimum educational requirement: solid knowledge of Human Resources and Benefits administration

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience with payroll/benefits for State of Maine agencies or departments
      - Proficiency with DAFS analytics
