      Human Resources (PFS):

      Hybrid Work Arrangement

      Summary:

      Work cross-functionally and have exposure to multiple areas within the People and Culture function such as: Talent Acquisition, HR Administration, Benefits/FMLA, Payroll, Project Management, Compensation, Employee relations and more. This HR internship is the foundation you need to jump start your career.

      Overview of responsibilities :

      Through your internship, you will have the opportunity to apply your education to meaningful projects while developing practical HR skills, business acumen, problem solving, execution skills, and a growth mindset. You will be immersed in exciting opportunities that will empower you to make decisions and develop your skills as a Human Resources professional.

      Talent Acquisition Support

      • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings on various social media sites, source diverse candidates, review resumes and applications, and schedule interviews within the HR system, Workday.
      • Support new hires throughout the background check and onboarding process to ensure a great candidate experience.
      • Track and report key recruitment metrics.

      Payroll and Leave of Absence Support

      • Support and track all personnel changes including new hires, terminations, and job changes in strict adherence to relevant state laws and regulations. This includes staying up to date on termination laws, pay equity laws, and onboarding compliance.
      • Assist and address employee inquiries pertaining to payroll matters and respond to questions regarding our benefits.
      • Collaborate in the analysis of data and contribute to the preparation of insightful reports for key stakeholders.
      • Support the Leave of Absence process by providing clear explanations of available options to employees, ensuring managers understand the process, and tracking leaves.
      • Provide dedicated support and guidance to managers on policy-related queries, employee relations matters, benefit-related questions, and various other inquiries.

      HR Projects

      • Participate in HR projects and initiatives across multiple functions.
      • Conducting research on HR related topics.
      • Contribute to HR analytics initiatives.

      Employee Relations and Compliance

      • Review employee relations case studies.
      • Will have exposure to employment laws, compliance, and regulations.

      Required Education/Experience

      • High School diploma GED, or equivalent education required.
      • Must be at least 18-years of age.
      • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
      • Our various PFS Internships are ideal for candidates pursuing a number of degrees including Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Communication, Human Resources, Pre-law, or similar degree.
      • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application or must have graduated the semester immediately preceding the start of the internship.
      • Minimum of sophomore status preferred.
      • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at time of application or graduation preferred.

      Required Knowledge/Skillsets

      • Curious and coachable, personable, and patient, action-oriented and accountable.
      • Motivated and enthusiastic about doing great work.
      • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
      • Strong tech-savvy competency; experience with Excel and Microsoft Teams specifically.
      • Strong organization skills, self-motivation, and learning agility to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
      • Bias for action and desire to make a meaningful difference alongside our current teammates.
      • Strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry as a preferred career field.
      • Added plus are students who are involved in extracurricular activities outside of their curriculum responsibilities (i.e., student organizations, leadership roles, student athletes, NAHB student competition, etc.).

      2024 Summer Internship Blueprint :

      In your 2024 internship role you will work alongside our experienced professionals and mirror that team’s schedule and flexibility models. Please read each role’s description and discuss with your hiring team to best understand the team’s expectations.

      • Internship Dates: May 20, 2024 – August 9, 2024 (12 weeks) (*Schedule may be adjusted based on individual student need.)
        • 40 hours per week; schedule depends on the internship position and its requirements.
      • Compensation: All internships are competitively paid. (Pay varies on position and location.) $22 per hour.
      • Format: HR and Capital Markets internships are hybrid format with a mix of in-office days and work from home days. Exact schedule will vary based on intern position and team; interns will mirror the schedule/format of their designated team.
        • Each intern will have the opportunity to shadow various functions that go into the homebuilding and lending processes.
        • Internships may include a capstone presentation or final project.
