What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes with modifiers for services provided in the facility
- Review documentation from various providers to determine appropriate coding for medical services
- Ensure diagnosis codes meet local and national medical necessity guidelines
- Resolve coding edits and denials, assisting with rebilling accounts as necessary
- Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and relevant federal regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must hold a Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) or CCS-P certification
- Minimum of 2 years of coding experience, specifically in Evaluation and Management coding
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding classification and CPT/HCPCS coding
- Must be available to work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday and live in the U.S. as a citizen or Green Card holder
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in coding healthcare provider documentation to identify correct ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes
- Excellent understanding of Mental Health / Opioid Addiction medical terminology
- Background in Mental Health or Addiction Medicine
- Proficient in MS Office applications
