      After the first three months of employment this position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

      DESCRIPTION

      Under supervision, the incumbent will serve as a radiology imaging analyst and database clerk and will provide all aspects of data recording and entry, data summary, and collection of image regions of interest. The incumbent will be responsible for data transfer, database entry and maintenance, and MRE data analysis to include 2D and 3D image capture, analysis, and documentation. Duties will include: image data acquisition, analysis, and reporting. The incumbent will assist in development and updating of standard operating procedures. In addition, utilizing theoretical knowledge and first-hand experience with the lab's research, the incumbent will be expected to support research activities that contribute to scientific manuscripts and collaborations with industry (e.g., information searches on the internet and through library resources, constructing figures and graphs).

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      • Theoretical knowledge of physics, biology, or related field typically acquired through formal education at the collegiate level and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • Experience in a research lab. Specifically, demonstrated ability to perform standard repetitive techniques that may be required in research protocols related to specific lab.

      • Ability to read, interpret and apply protocols in conducting research. Ability in following stepwise experimental protocols.

      • Demonstrated ability to carry out and track multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines.

      • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient/study subject data.

      • Experience with the operation of a personal computer and software, such as MS Word and Excel. Knowledge to work with and learn new software for analysis.

      • Ability to compose letters, proposals, reports, presentations, and other comprehensive materials using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, editing, formatting, and proofreading skills to clearly and concisely provide accurate information.

      • Proven knowledge of basic math and ability to conduct basic data analysis using Excel, R, or Matlab.

      • Demonstrated skill in accurate record keeping and ability to organize, analyze, and calculate data.

      • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) needed to interact professionally and effectively in work environment, as well as effectively and accurately document research procedures. Ability to read, comprehend and discuss research materials.

      • Ability to collect and record MRI data, PACS, imaging consul.

      • Working knowledge of MRE data analysis to include 2D and 3D image capture, analysis and documentation.

      SPECIAL CONDITIONS

      • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary to complete research projects and meet grant deadlines.

      • Employment is subject to a criminal background check.

      Pay Transparency Act

      Annual Full Pay Range: $53,766 - $64,143 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

      Hourly Equivalent: $25.75 - $30.72

      Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
