- BSc Radiography
- Educated to degree level
- Experience as an Imaging Systems Administrator in a teaching hospital with a wide range of different modalities.
- Extensive experience of all aspects of RIS and PACS system administration.
- Experience of developing and delivering training.
- Governance compliance and risk management in all areas of practice.
- Presentation skills - the ability to present clearly, logically and thoughtfully on a given topic at short notice to a mix of levels.
- Development and implementation of protocols and procedures.
- Teaching and training experience.
- Proven mentor experience - with positive outcomes.
- Experience of supervising and managing staff
- Understanding of relevant legislation, national standards and professional guidelines.
- Evidence of appropriate Continuous Professional Development.
- Knowledge of HL7 and DICOM
- Knowledge of Ionising Radiation Regulations IRR 99 and IR(ME)R 2000.
- Knowledge of the wide range of modalities used in an Imaging department.
- Teaching and training skills with the ability to adapt training and teaching styles in response to needs of the trainee.
- Team player with an enthusiasm for information technology with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
- PACS and RIS knowledge and experience. IT skills to advanced level particularly in Microsoft Excel and QlikView.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Conflict resolution and mediation skills
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Communicate via power point presentation, telephone, face to face and over email to a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Capable of dealing with challenging behaviours.
- To remain professional in all modes of communication
- Requirement to work late or overnight on occasion and at weekends
- Prepared to relocate to new site and service centre.
- Sufficient to perform the duties of the post with any aids and adaptations
- Requirement to be able to manage own workload and diary.

Job summary
We are seeking an Imaging Systems Administrator to support the RIS & PACS systems and related digital equipment at Barts Health.
Based at Whipps Cross, you will be accountable to the Imaging Systems Manager for Whipps Cross & Newham and will work closely with colleagues in the PACS Team, the Imaging Department, ICT and other staff groups across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
This post requires strong technical and information skills to deliver the following key duties:o Maintain the integrity and availability of PACS, RIS and associated systems at Whipps Cross and at other Barts Health sites as required, providing technical and specialist input on an autonomous basis.o Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, acting as first line support for system users at Whipps Cross.o Provide training and support to system users at Whipps Cross and occasionally elsewhere. You will have a clear understanding of Imaging systems and workflows. Knowledge of Sectra RIS/PACS systems is advantage, however training will be given. You will be confident, possess excellent interpersonal skills and have an ability to encourage and motivate others. You will need to demonstrate a willingness to work autonomously, sometimes under pressure. You will also be required to document processes for staff and system users, delivering a service based on these documents.
