Scope and Purpose

The mission of the Debt Origination UK & MEA team is to coordinate origination activities for the Bank’s existing and target corporate and institutional clients with the aim of developing these relationships. A key focus will be to coordinate these activities with the Bank’s coverage and product teams. The emphasis is on building long term, profitable relationships based upon trust and offering services and solutions which match both the clients’ needs and the Bank’s own strategy and appetite. The team will understand their clients’ strategies, sector trends and commercial challenges and are committed to exceed the client’s expectations in order to achieve trusted advisor status.

This will entail carrying out regular and detailed analysis on a client’s business and capital structure to understand what their future financing requirements will be and to identify appropriate products and solutions to propose to them.

Required Experience

4 – 6 years in an investment banking or professional services firm.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• Excellent communication skills in English and a second language an advantage.
• Demonstrable knowledge of different financing styles (project finance, acquisition finance, bilateral, club and syndicated corporate debt facilities) essential.
• Proven ability to work with and understand different product areas including Markets, DCM, ECM and Advisory.
• Excellent credit skills and demonstrable understanding of economic and risk factors.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Bloomberg.
• Experience in financial modelling and legal documentation.
• Strong understanding of financial products and structures with awareness of the latest developments and structures being used in the market.
• Knowledge of current social and economic developments, industry and sector dynamics, competition and relevant events in the international markets.
