Financial Controller Indirect Functions & Revenue
Location: Southern Hub – ColnbrookTasks and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced individual to work as a member of the UK controlling team, supporting the UK Board of Directors. You will provide financial control and expertise ensuring results are accurately recorded, reported and analysed whilst looking for opportunities in the data to improve the results. You will support Board Directors initiatives from a financial and commercial perspective. Forecast, plan and budget the future.
You will have the ability to present financial results in clear, concise and accurate way. Confident business partner building knowledge, trust and repour with stakeholders of all levels whilst also being able to present confidently to the wider business, keeping close to the business and adding maximum value. Balancing multiple commitments and prioritising accordingly.
Key Responsibilities and outputs
· Lead one direct report, both in the short term and to ensure they have the skills to backfill in their manager. Ensure compliance to DHL HR policies and procedures.
· Provide financial support to the Board Directors for the Indirect Functions (Sales, Customer Services, HR, IT etc)
· Manage monthly review of costs, forecasts and initiatives with functional board members or their delegates
· Represent finance on various business initiatives. Provide financial advice and ensure decisions are based on information and logic.
· Stand in for the UK Head of Controlling when he/she is away. In the medium term, develop the skills and ability to be able to backfill senior finance roles.
· Work closely and collaboratively with the Commercial Sales Team.
· Ensure management information is fit for the decisions it is designed to support. Most management information is provided by the commercial reporting team and a centralized expert function. Manage them and occasionally provide ad hoc information
· Month End. Ensure all deadline are met and month end actuals are accurate. This is achieved by managing the various finance sub-functions which contribute data.
· Monthly analysis of c €150m monthly revenue. Understand the drivers down to customer level, trade lanes, discounting, etc
· Report performance against KPIs and target, understand the drivers of change.
· Monthly analysis of c. €12m Functional Costs, understanding drivers including FTE movements
· Forecast the future month, rest of year and next year’s revenue and Indirect Costs. Develop models to improve the accuracy of forecasts.
· Financial Accounting. Be responsible for compliant financial accounting advice and decisions under IFRS.

Experience
· 3 years post qualification experience in financial controlling and analysis, including budgeting forecasting
· Previous experience supporting senior managers/ directors and have demonstrable experience of constructive challenging.
Education/Qualifications
• Educated to a degree standard
• Qualified with one of the recognised professional finance bodies (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
