What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare and file corporate, state, and commodity tax returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations
- Manage sales tax compliance processes and monitor tax exemption certificates for nonprofit customers
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement sales tax exemptions and provide strategic recommendations
- Act as a key tax advisor in cross-functional decision-making regarding tax implications of business initiatives
- Assist with external and regulatory reviews, audits, and examinations as needed

What is Required (Qualifications):
- University degree with a focus on accounting and finance, and a CPA designation
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive tax department experience with responsibilities in tax filing and research
- Adequate working experience with US and Canadian tax regulations and filings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced skills in Excel

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages, with experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
- Experience with cross-border indirect tax involving US sales tax and nonprofit exemptions
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a highly deadline-driven environment
- Experience with system conversions and acceptance testing methodologies
- Strong collaboration skills and proactive approach to teamwork
