Active Care Group is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an Information Governance Manager to join our Governance and Safety team. This is a brand-new position within our dedicated team, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Group.

      Main duties of the job

      As the Information Governance Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Governance. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Group in fulfilling its data protection obligations and ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant legislation. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in an organization that values governance and safety. The Information Governance Manager in conjunction with the Head of Governance and the Data Protection Officer (DPO) will ensure that the Group has a robust IG framework in place and the organisation can demonstrate assurance

      Job responsibilities

      What you'll be doing:

      • Support the Group with implementing a robust IG Framework in place to support its statutory obligations around information governance.
      • Support the Group’s operational IG Working Group to demonstrate compliance and a sound operating framework.
      • Support the Group with completing its Data Security & Protection Toolkit to a satisfactory standard.
      • Ensuring that any serious breaches are reported and managed escalating to the Head of Governance and the DPO.
      • Support the ongoing development and coordination of effective Information Governance (IG) within the organisation.
      • Provide advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders ensuring that the Group complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 / General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
      • Ensure that any requests for information at an internal / external level are fully scrutinised to ensure that there is a legal basis and that the Group complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 / General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
      • Advising members of staff at all levels including senior managers involved in the provision of IG across the organisation.
      • Provide advice and guidance to members of staff, senior management and external stakeholders in relation to IG matters

      What you'll have:

      • At least 3 years’ experience in an information governance role within a health care provider.
      • Experience of completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
      • Experience of working with the Information Commissioners Office in relation to notifications and compliance with guidance.
      • Able to analyse complex reports and interpret statistical/performance data and draw conclusions; and explain to others.
      • Proficiency in the use of ICT applications to support efficient work activity, including the collation, analysis, interpretation and presentation of highly complex data.
      • Experience of delivering training on information governance compliance.
