- Monitor security alerts and notices
- Triage incoming security incidents
- Identify compromised systems using various security tools
- Follow documented procedures for incident resolution
- Work closely with InfoSec operations analysts to improve and/or automate many of our security processes
The Information Security Office is looking for individuals from all majors to help educate users on Cyber Security, gain experience working in a Security Operations Center, and assisting in improving processes to analyze security data. This position is for Fall 2024. This position is available to full-time UVA undergraduate and/or graduate students.
The Operations Team is looking for someon e with IT skills who would like experience working alongside UVA’s information security operations team. Specifically, we would like someone who has a very good understanding of an operating system (e.g. Windows, MAC OS, Linux, etc), networking knowledge preferred (e.g. a routing and switching infrastructure, protocols).
Tasks would include:
Position Compensation: $15.25/hour
Location: 2400 Old Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA

Education: Current full-time UVA undergraduate or graduate student

Licensure: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
