      At NCCI, we’re looking for an Information Security/Cybersecurity Intern to join our Enterprise Information Security team starting in September 2023! Our internship provides an opportunity that introduces cybersecurity professional to the day-to-day operations of security within NCCI. As an intern, you’ll be primarily focused on information security initiatives and projects, and short-term 3-4 month initiatives to help drive improvements within the information security space.

      You’ll be exposed to frontline tasks associated with information security practices, including IAM activities and the processes of event assessment and escalation to senior members of the Information Security team. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to learn firsthand how cybersecurity controls and implemented, managed, and enhanced across the business.

      This will be a paid, part-time internship working approximately 20-25 hours per week during the Fall 2023/Spring 2024 semesters. This role will have a flexible-hybrid work environment and the selected candidate must be local to the Boca Raton, FL area.


      WHAT YOU’LL DO:

      As an Information Security Intern, you’ll work alongside one or more mentors to perform data collection, ticket processing, analysis, and remediation tasks. To be effective, our interns must have a general understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts, as well as solid practical hands-on experience with computers.


      WHAT IT TAKES:

      • Currently pursuing a degree or enrolled in a reputable trade program in Cybersecurity
      • Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
      • General knowledge and hands-on coursework (lab) experience with cybersecurity endpoint, network, vulnerability, forensic, and log management tools
      • Basic understanding, knowledge of, and hands-on capabilities with operating system configuration (Windows, Unix, Linus) and networking (DNS, DHCP, routing protocols)
      • Ability to analyze event and incident logs, and work with teams to assess security events related to malware, vulnerabilities, and exploits
      • Basic exposure to one or more scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) preferred
