      Overview

      An Information Systems Security Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring the Security Engineering team is able to deliver high quality and timely resolution to requests for technical support. This is accomplished through continuous management of the service request queue by resolving issues, assigning issues to other appropriate members of the team, and providing follow up and communication with the individuals requesting support. Information Systems Security Analysts are responsible for configuring and managing an array of security tools to secure, log, and monitor network traffic as well as access to systems and applications. The Information Systems Security Analyst will also participate in projects by completing tasks of low to medium complexity assigned to them by Security Engineers and the Security Engineering Manager.

      Responsibilities

      • Provide tier 1 and 2 technical support for issues assigned to the Security Engineering team. Support may be performed remotely or in person and is expected to be performed in a courteous and professional manner, driving issues to a secure resolution which meets the needs of the requestor while also adhering to Children?s Mercy security policies and procedures, compliance and regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
      • Provide ongoing high-quality administration of various security tools and applications throughout their product life-cycle to ensure they are configured and maintained in a consistently healthy state. The security tools and applications include but are not limited to firewalls, endpoint protection, monitoring systems, e-mail security systems, privileged account management systems, network access control, vulnerability scanners, etc.
      • Assist and support Security Engineers by completing tasks of low to medium complexity for projects of various size and scope as assigned by Security Engineers and the Security Engineering Manager.
      • Manage the support queue for service requests forwarded to the Security Engineering team and create service requests to track other requests for support that come to the Security Engineering team through walk up requests, e-mail, phone calls, etc. escalating tier 3 support requests and above to Security Engineers and the Security Engineering Manager when appropriate.
      • Create, revise, and maintain high quality written process documents, methods of procedure, knowledge base articles, flowcharts, etc. Written documents should collectively provide instruction to the Security Engineering team to ensure consistency and high-quality results of work performed by various member of the team.
      • Identify new solutions to improve current state of network security through research and testing new security ideas in an isolated lab environment.

      Qualifications

      • Associate's Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR
      • High School diploma, or equivalent, and 3-5 years' experience
      • CompTIA Network + Preferred
      • COMPTIA Security + Preferred
      • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) Preferred
      • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Preferred

      Starting Pay

      Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $33.88/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

      Remote Work/Work from Home

      This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
