      The Duke Energy Information Technology Summer Internship Program is designed for currently enrolled college students looking to bring their passion, skills, knowledge, and innovative mindset to the energy sector.

      IT Interns will gain on-the-job experience and exposure to areas such as, software engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and cloud engineering. Ideal candidates should be highly motivated and have the curiosity to take on new complex challenges while contributing directly to team goals along with honing their own skills for future technical and professional endeavors.

      Throughout the summer internship, students will learn more about the Enterprise Technology and Security department, as well as the boarder company’s business operations, by attending various site visits, information sessions and networking events with senior leadership and peers.

      Basic/Required Qualifications

      • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program as a rising Sophomore or Junior or Senior

      • Enrolled in an IT or Engineering related major, such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Software Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering

      • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

      Working Conditions:

      • Hybrid office work environment

      • Many of our opportunities require a 40-hour work week
