What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct assessments of alleged child abuse and neglect
- Interview all household members and visit the child's home to gather information
- Analyze information to ensure children's safety
- Prepare written and oral testimony for Children's Court appearances
- Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation for access and initial assessment services
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a valid driver's license and minimum of two years licensed driving experience
- Experience, training, or education in social welfare, social science, or related field
- Experience creating written reports or assessments
- Ability to handle competing priorities and make unbiased decisions
- Must be 18 years of age or older
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate Degree or higher in social welfare, social science, or related field
- Experience interpreting and applying social welfare-related laws and regulations
- Education or training in interviewing diverse populations
- Experience handling stressful situations and de-escalating conflicts
- Experience investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect and managing a case load independently
