What can you expect?

As our innovation project manager Automotive, you will be responsible for:

• Lead Innovation projects according to Innovation governance and Stage Gate process implemented for Polyurethane division
• To work cross-functionally and lead Innovation Project team including day-to-day project management
• To prepare the Project Plans and supporting documents
• To recommend and assemble the assigned project resources, and arrange kick-off meetings
• To deploy the project resources according to the approved planning, monitor progress, and take corrective action where appropriate
• To organise, coordinate and supervise with project team all activities on-site and to monitor and resolve any issues
• To monitor all project parameters (quality, cost, schedule) and initiate and manage corrective action in the event of deviations
• To ensure good communication in the project: with the client, team members, vendors/partners, lender’s engineer, Management; arrange/participate in project meetings
• To ensure that all project and corporate procedures are correctly followed
• To administer project variations
• To look for continuous improvement in all processes and methodologies
• To act as coach towards more junior colleagues or less experienced affiliates
• Present project to Automotive Platform Leadership team and Innovation governance board (IG) and recommend go/hold/change/stop decision
• Escalate and seek support from Leadership team or/and Innovation team in case of project deviation/change
• Accurately document project flow and activities

Additionally:

• You will report to the Strategic Automotive Marketing Director in our Polyurethanes division
• You will step into a role with growth and development potential
• You can choose to be based in either Tienen, Belgium / Deggendorf, Germany / Auburn Hills, USA

What do we expect from our innovation project manager?

We are looking for experienced candidates with excellent project management skills and a result focused approach.

We are looking for someone who has:

• The ability to set up, motivate and steer cross functional project teams and to adapt easily to different cultural environments
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strategic partnerships within and outside the organization; ability to work cross-regional and cross-cultural
• Knowledge of project management Stage gate process concept
• Graduate-level engineer/mechanical engineer/ chemical engineer
• Minimum 8 years of professional seniority
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management leading/ coordinating multidisciplinary teams/projects
• Relevant portfolio management software (e.g. Planview, Sopheon, Salesforce, Clarity, Braineet etc) and formal training in project management (PMBOK / Prince2) is desirable
• Excellent English language skills
