      Job Title:

      Institutional Data Information Officer

      Physical Location:

      Kent, OH

      Salary:

      $50,451 - $67,473

      Basic Function:

      Create, maintain, and validate Institutional Research SQL databases. Generate data for state, federal, internal, and external surveys. Develop and maintain crucial institutional reports and web based applications for academic and administrative units. Reports to the director, Institutional Research or designated administrator.

      Examples of Duties:

      Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

      Maintain data sources by providing support and engaging in ongoing data discussion and investigation.

      Retrieve data from internal and external sources to produce official university and ad-hoc reports.

      Create, modify, and update web-based and local applications and databases to meet the needs of the university.

      Provide critical reports in a convenient and timely manner to the university community.

      May assist in HEI (state) and IPEDS (federal) reporting.

      May assist in completing reports and surveys for external agencies.

      Develop and provide institutional statistical information for reports, documents, and publications.

      Perform related duties as assigned.

      License/Certification:

      Knowledge Of:

      Information systems development, knowledge of PL/SQL programming) and personal computer applications (e.g. MS Office Suite including database, spreadsheet, word processing, internet, e-mail; ERP applications for institutional effectiveness - Banner preferred)

      Skill In:

      Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex SQL and PL/SQL queries and relational databases *

      Interpersonal and written communication

      Maintaining web-based applications

      Completing projects including monitoring and checking work for accuracy and consistency, while organizing time and resources efficiently to meet deadlines

      Ability To:

      Set priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines, requiring good time management, self-direction and supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products

      Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

      Master’s degree preferred in Computer Science or related field. Experience with COGNOS and Banner.

      Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

      Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
