      Job Description

      Job Summary
      The Instructional Design Specialist collaborates with a team of instructional
      designers, content developers and subject matter experts, to create learning
      experiences and learning materials, including content for undergraduate,
      graduate, and professional learners as well as faculty development, grant-funded
      projects for internal and external projects and/or possible monetization. Learning
      experiences and content development accounts for a range of learning
      environments, including classroom, laboratory and clinical contexts offered
      in-person, online, or in hybrid formats.
      The position integrates effective, evidence-based pedagogical practices in course
      design, learning theory and to foster engagement and promote active learning
      that integrates knowledge and understanding of modern computing systems and
      emerging technology applications.

      Essential Functions
      • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

      • Collaborates with stakeholders to plan, design implement, and assess learning experiences.
      • Participates in the development of course and curricular instructional materials
      • Plans, designs, and administers instructional materials
      • Tracks emerging pedagogies and educational technologies that may enhance teaching and learning.


      Experience with e-content authoring tools, such as Articulate 360
      Knowledge of evidenced-based theories of learning and course design

      Education:
      Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, instructional design, multimedia design or animation required. Master’s degree preferred.
      AND
      Experience:
      Two to three year’s experience with educational technology support, instructional design or
      training and development required. Training or teaching experience preferred.
