      Higginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Instructional Designer.

      Learning & Development individuals of Higginbotham should possess an extraordinary personality that represents our company and department to the inside and outside world. The Instructional Designer will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of learning programs and will be responsible for organizing and reporting training needs and results.

      Essential Tasks:

      • Participate in project teams comprised of subject matter experts and stakeholders to determine desired Learning & Development outcomes and alignment opportunities.
      • Design, maintain, and deliver learning content and programs within designated timelines, including multiple learning delivery methods that accommodate various learning styles to maximize learning impact.
      • Use project management systems to monitor, update, and report on the status of ongoing projects.
      • Administer all training software, including, but not limited to, confirming all systems are prepared for training, assigning/removing training, troubleshooting any user inquiries, completing reoccurring audits, and providing reports to stakeholders.
      • Conduct reviews of deliverables for instructional quality and accuracy.
      • Traveling may consist of up to 10 percent of the year.
      • Remain current on Learning & Development theories and methodology.
      • Assist with any other projects within the responsibility of Learning & Development.

      Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Articulate 360, and familiarity with Learning Management Systems are recommended with the ability to learn new systems quickly and processes quickly.
      • Ability to work autonomously, as well as with teams.
      • Ability to handle multiple projects for short or lengthy periods of time.
      • Must be highly organized, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize.
      • Superior customer service skills are required, including both written and oral communication skills.
      • High level of creativity; ability to evaluate and address Learning & Development needs in a fast-paced and changing environment.
      • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment and competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
      • Requires the ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
      • Well-developed presentation skills are expected. Developed advanced public speaking skills such as knowing the material being presented, keeping the presentation on course, and providing audio-visual aids as necessary.

      Experience and Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree or 1 to 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.

      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
      • Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens.
      • Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on the telephone and in person.
      • Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
      • Walking, bending, sitting, reaching, and stretching in all directions.
