      Position Highlights The Opera Theater Program at the School of Music is looking for a part-time faculty Instructor, Voice Coach/Accompanist for Opera for the upcoming Fall 2025 academic year. [Renewable, pending funding] This individual will be responsible for preparing students for roles including diction, rhythm, intention and style. The ideal candidate must have expertise with operatic repertory as a vocal coach, and as a rehearsal leader. The candidate must also possess excellent diction skills in English, German, Italian and French. This individual must be a strong collaborator and enthusiastic to work with a variety of student singers at a variety of levels of competence.

      This position will be 15-19.6 hours/week appointment.

      Duties & Responsibilities
      • Preparing principals and ensembles for productions.
      • Opera workshop and scenes preparation.
      • Playing rehearsals.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      • Ability to coach Diction of the following languages: English, Italian, German, and French.
      • Ability to collaborate as a pianist working with singers and operatic/orchestral scores.
      • Vocal coaching skills.
      • Ability to conduct opera productions.
      Minimum Qualifications
      • A Master's degree in collaborative piano or equivalent with 3 years of experience.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Doctorate in collaborative piano/vocal coach.
