What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Follow up on outstanding insurance and government payor claims via phone, email, and mail
- Rebill underpayments, appeal denials, and ensure accurate reimbursement from payors
- Audit accounts for proper payments, coding, and adjustments
- Review secondary claims for accuracy prior to submission
- Comply with Federal and State billing requirements, including HIPAA regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with commercial or government billing and reimbursement processes, or an Associate's degree in Billing, Coding, or Health Information Management (HIM)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Knowledge of hospital and professional billing practices and reimbursement requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree in Billing, Coding, Business, Finance, or a related field
- EPIC Certification
