What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Make phone calls to insurance companies regarding claim status, reprocessing, and appeals
- Complete daily tasks and review aging reports to ensure timely follow-up
- Monitor trends in denials from insurance companies to identify areas for improvement
- Navigate insurance websites to verify eligibility and check claim status
- Provide information about claims to insurance companies, attorneys, and other authorized parties while adhering to HIPAA guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen and empathize
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
- Detail-oriented with a focus on thoroughness and accuracy
- Team-oriented mindset, accountable to team goals and respectful of team members' perspectives
- Knowledge of CMS1500, COB, PHI, and other relevant medical terminology
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with insurance claims and knowledge of claims processing
- Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and regulations
- Previous experience in a healthcare-related role
