      Overview

      The Integration Engineer is responsible for managing the integrations and connectors within the proprietary Origami integration platform, called Origami Workflow, including the creation, execution, and quality assurance of new integration connectors and integration workflows for stakeholders. The role involves routinely monitoring first- and third-party API changes and establishing processes to maintain high standards of integration quality and efficiency. They work closely with Product Managers, third-party vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure requested integrations and workflows are available and valuable.

      Starting base pay for this role is between $81,360 and $101,700. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).

      Responsibilities

      • Participates in quarterly release planning activities, driving direction and prioritization for each quarter for building standardized integrations into Origami’s integration library.
      • Executes against strong time management and planning to ensure adequate time is allotted for work to move through product life-cycle inclusive of discovery, requirements, design, and architecture.
      • Performs functional testing and confirms sprint demos to ensure delivery of quality software.
      • Validates team’s product & engineering artifacts (User Stories/Acceptance Criteria, Visual Collaboration documents, design documents, etc.) to ensure risks to value, viability, feasibility, and usability are addressed upfront.
      • Develops and publishes standard integrations and workflows to integration store
      • Works with other integration colleagues to ensure adequate API changes and upgrades notifications
      • Assesses the impact of API changes and ensure timely implementation, communication, and documentation of necessary updates to maintain seamless integration functionality.
      • Continuously monitors the overall performance of integration platform connections.
      • Utilizes data to identify improvement opportunities, including but not limited to training and best practices.
      • Adheres to SLAs for business-requested integrations, ensuring timely addition and thorough testing.
      • Communicates SLA expectations and status updates to relevant stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability.
      • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for Origami Workflow, offering tips and assistance to help optimize bespoke client-built workflows as needed.

      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, business, liberal arts, science, or engineering.
      • 3-5 years’ experience in integration engineering, API management, or related field.
      • Ability to establish and maintain standardized processes for integration development and QA.
      • Excellent analytical skills to monitor performance and identify optimization opportunities.
      • Effective communication skills for collaboration, training, and best practice sharing.
      • Effective project management skills to handle multiple integration requests and adhere to SLAs.
      • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) across all levels of the organization.
      • Effective collaboration with partners and internal teams.
      • Strong relationship building skills, including an ability to influence stakeholders and scrum team members.

      • Ability to balance short-term needs with long-term strategy.
      • Experience overseeing all or some phases of the product development lifecycle.
      • Expertise using various low-code, middleware platforms such as Mulesoft, Tray.io, Unqork, Appian, etc.
      • Experience working in agile methodologies and working on an agile team.
      • Prior Risk Management and/or P&C Insurance experience preferred but not required.
