What will you do?

The Investment Solutions Reporting team is responsible for financial and regulatory reporting for the Canadian Individual Wealth business and related subsidiaries. Reporting to the Manager, Wealth Reporting, the Intermediate Financial Analyst will assist in ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accounting transactions from the Individual Wealth administration systems through to the General Ledger. This includes accounting reconciliation, financial reporting, and maintaining a control environment related to the Individual Wealth business.

• Process accounting for the Segregated Funds line of business and prepare journal entries
• Manage preparation of investment management fee statements for fund companies
• Responsible for business area’s month-end close process
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Prepare payments (wires/EFT)
• Manage processing of vendor feeds to general ledger
• Prepare and provide quarterly trending analysis on key accounts
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly reporting packages and presentations for senior management and Board of Directors
• Support Sun Life Financial Trust Inc. deliverables including statutory and regulatory reporting
• Assist with lease reserve client statements and associated accounting
• Provide audit support (regulatory, external, and internal) by providing requested documents and explanations

What do you need to succeed?

• 2 – 3 years of Accounting and Financial Reporting experience (reconciliation, audit, reporting etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Actively pursuing or successfully completed a professional accounting designation
• Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks or projects simultaneously in a fast -paced environment
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience or knowledge of Individual Wealth or the insurance industry
• Experience working with large data sets focusing on summarizing, extracting, and reconciling data
• Knowledge of and experience with Sun Life’s internal administration systems including Prism, Ingenium and LA
• Experience with SAP ledger and Tableau
• Adaptable, pro-active, and positive approach toward change

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
