      Status: 12-month paid internship

      Location: 22 Adelaide Street West, Toronto (hybrid model)

      Job Summary:

      Reporting to the Manager, Social Media the Intern will get a broad overview of the Harlequin brand publishing and marketing efforts and the various roles within marketing. The Intern will gain experience in various areas of brand marketing, book marketing, social media & content marketing, digital advertising and product management.

      Responsibilities

      Brand Marketing

      • Metadata – assist in the optimization and execution of various metadata initiatives
      • Promotion – assist in the execution of seasonal and trending theme activity
      • Trend Investigation – assist in the research and documentation of industry and sales trends

      Publishing/Product Management

      • Product Management – assist with tasks such as ISBN assignments, digital feed QCs, briefing shell development, scheduling, sales materials, etc.

      Social Media & Content Marketing

      Social Media & Digital Content

      • Participate in the ideation and creation of engaging social media content for the Harlequin brand.
      • Assist in the creation of social media graphics using Canva.
      • Create blog content for Harlequin Ever After blog.

      Publishing & Tracking

      • Track social media & content marketing support for priority titles and campaigns.
      • Schedule/publish social media posts and content using social media scheduling tools.

      Research & Outreach

      • Assist in research for ongoing content marketing projects (i.e. filming locations, local talent, trending topics, etc.)
      • Assist in author outreach for content marketing projects

      Qualifications

      Specific training or job experience required includes:

      • Completion of university or college education, or possess equivalent/relevant work experience in the areas of marketing, communications or publishing
      • Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in Canada
      • Familiarity with digital platforms, including social media, interest in TikTok/Reels a plus
      • Comfort with key PC or MAC software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe)
