      Intern - Mechanical Engineering

      Your Skills

      Role Description – Mechanical R&D Internship:

      Applicants should have the desire to apply basic ME principles and theories in a practical environment. Interns will become familiar with mechanical components and schematics. They will learn about the design of systems from concept to industrialization to implementation in the field. Working with our team to troubleshoot technical issues will allow interns to develop their problem-solving abilities. Progress and assignments will be discussed at weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the manager. At the end of the internship, the intern will give a presentation summarizing their accomplishments.

      Responsibilities:

      Support the mechanical and system team activities.

      Assist in with strength calculations done manually.

      Help creating and maintaining 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documents.

      Work on innovation tasks and brainstorming ideas for technical problems.

      Support assembly of prototypes.

      Support component testing.

      3D printing.

      Run FEA analysis.

      Your Experience

      Required Skills:

      Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Creo

      Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite

      Ability to manage multiple tasks

      Team player

      Self-starter

      Hands on experience with tools (drills, grinders, wrenches, etc) is a plus.

      College Junior or Senior (must have at least 50% of their undergrad coursework completed)

      ***Candidates must reside within commutable distance, as we do not provide living accommodations for the Internship***

      Summer internships period: May - August

      Fall internships period: Sept - Dec

      Spring Internships period: Jan - May

      (Team can be flexible with dates depending on candidate/school requirements and dates)
