- Develops up-to-date content for emails, Intranet, printed flyers, and other communications channels as needed to clearly convey information about staff news such as recruitment events, annual open enrollment communications, staff parties, programmatic and administrative updates, LAFH Internal Newsletter, Regional Newsletter, and other organization-wide news in partnership with department representatives.
- Evaluates existing channels for appropriate internal communication and identifies existing gaps in collaboration with the Associate Director of Internal Communications.
- Manages department-wide content updates for the LAFH Intranet.
- Ensures all content disseminated to LAFH staff is on-brand, on-message, engaging, and accurate in collaboration with the Associate Director of Internal Communications and the Marketing Manager.
- Produces monthly video projects to be shared internally, and provides video, design, and photography support as needed.
- Establishes and maintains a coalition of staff representatives from departments across the organization to inform the implementation of an intra-organizational communications program.
- Partners with the LAFH Programs Team to support ongoing communication needs such as newsletters, emails, videos, flyers, design needs, etc.
- Attends all monthly planning committees for all observation months observed by the organization (e.g. Pride Month, AAPI Heritage Month) and provides recommendations for weekly staff presentations, celebrations, and other activities.
- Stays current on the latest trends and functionality for internal content development and culture-building communications.
- Additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities such as invoicing, database management, LAFH photo database, etc. as directed by supervisor.
- General understanding of internal communications and best practices for driving awareness, understanding, and alignment.
- Experience helping foster a robust and inclusive staff culture across various platforms.
- Ability to take internally developed content and deliver it to staff in an easily understandable and compelling way.
- Strong understanding of how internal communications and organizational culture support broader organizational goals.
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to quickly cultivate relationships across the organization through collaboration and support.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
- Prior experience building and maintaining organization-wide Intranets is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience accepted.
- Three to four (3-4) years of experience in internal communications, strategic communications, or related field (nonprofit experience a plus).

THE POSITION:
The Internal Communications Manager is an integral asset in our growing Communications department and will work under the direction of our Associate Director of Internal Communications. Working with other members of the Communications Team, the Internal Communications Manager will be tasked with developing and employing various communications strategies to positively enhance the working relationships of all departments. This position will help deliver key organizational information to LAFH staff through a variety of formats to ensure all our employees are informed, engaged, and set up for success. The Internal Communications Manager will successfully assist the Associate Director of Internal Communications in translating organizational priorities into compelling internal multi-channel communications driven by both the LAFH brand and our mission of ending homelessness.
