      L'obiettivo di GSK Global Health Vaccines Research and Development (GVGH) è sviluppare vaccini contro le malattie che colpiscono principalmente i paesi a basso e medio reddito. Il laboratorio di sierologia e immunologia di GVGH, afferente alla funzione di ricerca, è focalizzato a valutare la risposta immunitaria indotta dai candidati vaccini sia a livello preclinico che clinico (fasi I e II), utilizzando e sviluppando nuovi saggi immunologici in high-throughput. Lo studente farà parte di un team di scienziati ed eseguirà esperimenti e contribuirà alla concezione, progettazione e interpretazione di dati scientifici a sostegno di progetti di ricerca.

      Descrizione del progetto

      Il tirocinante acquisirà la conoscenza di varie tecniche sierologiche, che verranno utilizzate per caratterizzare la risposta immunologica di sieri provenienti da animali immunizzati contro candidati vaccini e anticorpi monoclonali antigene-pecifici. Il lavoro sarà focalizzato sulla generazione di anticorpi monoclonali contro diversi antigeni e nel determinare l’impatto che questi abbiano, da soli o in combinazione, nel’indurre una risposta funzionale della risposta mediante saggi di battericidia o altri saggi cellulari, anche in comparazione con sieri ottenuti tramite immunizzazione.

      Competenze che il tirocinante svilupperà grazie all'esperienza di tirocinio:

      • Determinazione di quantità di anticorpi antigene-specifici usando metodologia ELISA / Luminex

      • Manipolazione di batteri patogeni

      • Saggi per valutare la funzionalità degli anticorpi (es. saggi di battericidia complemento mediata, opsonofagocitosi, saggi di inibizione di adesione o invasione)

      • Competenze non tecniche: capacità di seguire procedure operative standard

      Requisiti di Base:

      • Student* Magistrale in Biologia o affini

      • Fluente conoscenza dell'italiano, buona conoscenza dell'inglese

      • Conoscenza di colture cellullari, conoscenza teorica e pratica sulla Cellule

      • Manipolazione di patogeni e anticorpi monoclonali (preferienziale)

      Requisiti Preferibili:

      • Propensione al lavoro in team

      • Precisione ed attenzione al dettaglio

      • Forte motivazione
