Job Description
- Req#: INTER01933
- A student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study, with an interest in psychology, a social science field, or research methods. Interests in survey administration, statistical analysis, data visualizations, and computer/statistical programming are pluses.
- The internship is a fully remote position. Interns must reside in a state that meets APA’s residency requirement. Interns in the Washington, DC area have the option to work in the APA building.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Develop research skills, such as a better understanding of the research process from start to finish.
- Increased awareness of research findings and career resources on a variety of career pathways in psychology.
- Improve communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills by working with the research team to refine ongoing projects and reports.
- The intern will assist with several workforce research projects, which may include coding and analyzing job advertisements, testing survey instruments, writing summaries of research findings, providing feedback on research projects, assisting with secondary analysis of survey data, creating data visualizations, and other tasks.

The Center for Workforce Studies at the American Psychological Association collects, analyzes and disseminates information relevant to psychology’s workforce and educational pathways. CWS conducts research on all segments of the field of psychology, including scientists, educators, practitioners, applied psychologists, and those who serve the public interest. CWS develops a detailed understanding of demographic and employment trends, career outcomes, education, and training in psychology. Job Location - Remote: APA internships may be considered for remote work eligibility as defined in APA’s Flexible Work Policy and are subject to approval. Remote work interns may not work from the following states or U.S. territories: Alaska, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, U.S. Virgin Islands, Washington, Wyoming.
