- Currently enrolled in a graduate program of study, with an interest in psychology, social work, public health, sociology, or international affairs.
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- High familiarity with and competence in APA Style, APA PsycNet, and other research databases, and academic writing style.
- Ability to provide support in identifying, organizing, and preparing fund materials for the Racial Equity Fund.
- Ability to write content to promote the Racial Equity Fund through various channels.
- Ability to research potential grantmaking opportunities aligned with the goals of the Racial Equity Fund.
- Ability to conduct research on topics related to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and psychology.
- Capable of researching literature, reviewing content, and fact-checking.
- Excels in tracking and monitoring task progress and revisions of documents.
- Ability to assist in web content maintenance, including, but not limited to, producing content recommendations.
- How the APA operates as an association to promote psychology as a health profession and a science and pursue its social justice mission.
- How APA utilizes psychological science to inform inclusivity and equity within the association, discipline, and society.
- About infusing equity, diversity, and inclusion into the fabric of an organization.
- About psychology’s unique contributions to achieving racial equity and disability inclusion and accessibility.
- Intern projects vary but may include assisting in reviewing psychological literature; researching different aspects of identity, race, and culture, discrimination, bias, equity, and power; drafting, editing, and reviewing language for tools, products, and websites; tracking and reporting of project tasks and deliverables; and assisting with other duties as as as assigned.
We are currently accepting applications for a Spring/Summer 2025 intern. This office offers paid internships during the fall, spring, and/or summer term(s).
About the EDI Office:
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Office of the American Psychological Association actively champions EDI throughout the entire organization and establishes procedures to ensure that APA’s institutional practices are grounded in our commitment to promote diversity, and to advance equity, and inclusion.
The EDI Office achieves this by using a matrixed organizational strategy to support the EDI agenda—for example, promoting collaborative EDI implementation between and across directorates, boards, and committees; accountability mechanisms and reward systems to incentivize constituents to engage in EDI work.

Job Location - Remote: APA internships may be considered for remote work eligibility as defined in APA’s Flexible Work Policy and are subject to approval.
